Lustre. Group exhibition 2026 and 2027
In April and May 1941, Allied and Greek forces fought a desperate campaign across mainland Greece and Crete to slow the German invasion, ending in a hard-fought withdrawal and evacuation after weeks of fierce battles. In 2025, a group of Australian and New Zealand artists and photographers arrived in Greece to paint the landscapes scarred by Operation Lustre. These image were created during a group artist expedition to Greece and Crete called Lustre following in the footsteps of the Anzacs of WWII in 1941. www.paintingoperationlustre.com.au Photographs created using stills extracted from Red Komodo X cine camera.
