Michael’s extensive career in photography started with formal training followed by various commercial jobs and exhibitions in Sydney. As an up and coming photographer he was offered a position in Singapore where he was posted for 2 years. He arrived back in Sydney and moved into his studio in Surry Hills where he continues his commercial and exhibition photography. Below are just some of his major photography successes. 2004 The International Black and White Spider Awards. Michael was the only Australian nominee for the advertising section with an image for Nobby’s furniture. 2004 The International Black and White Spider Awards 2003: Accepted into Collection 9. The image titled “Progression” from the exhibition Remnant was accepted in to prestigious ACMP Collection 9 Progression, from ACMP Collection 9 2002 Third Exhibition: Remnant “The lines between black & white and colour photography are intentionally blurred, and the results are simply wonderful.” Exhibition photograph, ‘Asset’ from ‘Remnant’ 2001 Commissioned to produce his first Sydney major ad campaign for Sky news TV. Agency: Hanlon Wilson Weekes, Advertising Photography: Sky News TV 2000 Move to Sydney and starting own business and sharing a studio with Ian MacPherson in Surry Hills 2000 Joined ACMP 2000 Landed David Jones Online account. Michael was asked to photograph 1800 cosmetics and fragrances initially for DJs online. This led Michael’s first serious foray into the world of digital photography. Michael was the sole photographic supplier for DJs online.
